STATIC PRESSURE GAS BEARING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static pressure gas bearing capable of easily processing the slot section as compared with conventional circular slot throttle bearings, improving bearing rigidity and load capacity, and greatly reducing the gas flow rate. SOLUTION: Many slots 21 are formed toward the radial direction at the both end faces of a bearing member 25. Slot side plates 16 are fixed to the both end faces and the assembled bearing housing 22 is housed in the casing 20 and a shaft 17 having an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the bearing housing 22 is inserted. Gas is sucked through a gas supply inlet and forced to flow in the many slots 21 through the circumferential grooves and the air introduction passage. Then, the gas flows in the radial bearing gap between the shaft 17 and the inner peripheral face of the bearing housing 22 to rotatably support the shaft 17. Since the gas is supplied from respective slots to the shaft, the bearing rigidity and the loading capacity increase and the bearing flowing rate decreases.
