PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic cooker, in which a food container marked with information code is placed in a heating chamber without manual work of allowing a reader to read the information code, and the code on the container is read by a code reader. SOLUTION: Food in a container 6 marked with information code 7 is heated in the cooker. The cooker is provided with a heating chamber 4, a door 2 for opening/closing the opening of the chamber, a control part 3 having a display, etc., and a reader for information-code placed on the wall 4b of the heating chamber 4. The information code 7 on the container 6 placed in the chamber 4 is read by an information-code reader 5. Thus, conditions for heating food are automatically set, and the food is automatically heated.
