PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge unit having a wide range of applications. SOLUTION: A housing portion 2a extending to right and left is formed in an inside of the hinge body 2. A hinge shaft 3 is arranged in the housing portion 2a in a linearly movable state to a right and left direction, and first and second urging portions 44 and 45 of an urging means 4 are arranged at both of right and left sides of the hinge shaft 3. When the hinge shaft 3 is moved to a left side from an illustrated neutral position, the first urging portion 44 urges the hinge shaft 3 to a right side toward the neutral position. When the hinge shaft 3 is moved to a right side from the neutral position, the second urging portion 45 urges the hinge shaft 3 to a left side toward the neutral position.
