PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal structure of a cylinder liner. SOLUTION: This improved seal structure 40 is provided for a replaceable cylinder liner 10. The seal structure 40 includes a strip seal 26 disposed in a circular groove 28 provided under the flange sheet 20 of a cylinder liner 10. The circular groove 28 includes first and second undercuts 30, 34 to lessen a possible damage to a seal 26 by bringing about a relief region where the seal 28 can bend. The first and second undercuts 30, 34 also release axial stress to improve the fatigue life of the cylinder liner 10.
