PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inclined end faces from protruding and moving as the result of tightening of fasteners. SOLUTION: This opening device 2 has vertical and horizontal frame members 4 and 6 provided on the indoor side of an opening in a building. The vertical and horizontal frame members 4 and 6 are placed by butting an end face 10a of one frame member 6 against a side face 8 of the other frame member 4 on the outdoor side, butting together the inclined end faces 10b and 12b formed at the ends of the frame members 4 and 6 on the indoor side, providing hole parts 16a and 16a in at least the other frame member 4, with the hole parts in adjoining, parallel relationship in the indoor and outward direction so that the frame members are joined together by at least two fasteners 14 driven into the end face 10a of the one frame member 6 through the other frame member 4 at the outdoor butted parts. Of the hole parts 16a and 16a in the side face 8 of the other frame member 4, the hole part 16a closer to the inclined end face 12b is located in a position away from the position of the other hole part 16a in the direction away from the end face 12a of the frame member 4, so as to take up the protrusion of the inclined end face 10b caused by the tightening of the fastener 14.
