PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a coating tool keeping a coating liquid from attaching to the handle of the coating tool. SOLUTION: The storage container to house the coating tool 11 comprises a housing container 12 to house the coating tool 11 and a lid 13 which closes the housing container 12 in the state of housing the coating tool 11. A handle 11b is mounted on the coating tool 11 to seize the coating tool 11 and an opening 13a is formed in the lid 13 to pass through the handle 11b. When the lid 13 is put on the container 12 in the state that the coating tool 11 is housed in the housing container 12, the handle 11b of the coating tool 11 protrudes from the opening 13.
