PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge equipped with an improved and low-cost alignment mechanism. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge for an ink jet printer includes the alignment mechanisms 52 in the shape of recesses formed on front and rear side walls 90 and 91 of a surface of the cartridge near bottom parts of the walls. An ink cartridge storage assembly includes a plurality of storage chambers and stores ink cartridges among a plurality of ink cartridges including ink of different colors into the storage chambers. The storage chambers are defined by identical diaphragms, and the diaphragms include arrangement structures which act with the alignment mechanisms 52 of the cartridge to properly align the cartridge when inserted into the storage chamber. The cartridges have identically curved surfaces. The curved surfaces join to complementary curved diaphragms. |
