HEARTH FOR MOVING BED FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hearth for a moving bed furnace, which has superior heat resistance and uses an inexpensive material. SOLUTION: In a hearth used for the moving bed furnace for manufacturing direct-reduced iron blocks by heating/reducing iron oxide blocks containing carbon materials on a moving bed which moves in the furnace, the hearth for the moving bed furnace is characterized in that a refractory scrap containing magnesium oxide is laid on the top face of the hearth. The refractory scrap preferably includes 30 mass% or more of magnesium oxide therein. The hearth has preferably a heat resistant layer consisting of iron oxide blocks on the refractory scrap.
