PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monomer comprising a one to four (substituted) 2- acryloyloxyethoxy groups-having 1,2,3,4-cyclobutanetetracarboxylic acid (meth) acrylate compound for acrylic polymers having excellent transparency. SOLUTION: This 1,2,3,4-cyclobutanetetracarboxylic acid (meth)acrylate compound of formula [1] [R<1> is H or a 1 to 4C alkyl; R<2> and R<3> are H or a 1 to 10C alkyl; R<4> to R<7> are each OH or a group of formula [2] [(n) is an integer of 1 to 3], provided that one or more of R<4> to R<7> are each the group of formula [2]]} obtained by reacting 1,2,3,4-cyclobutanetetracarboxylic dianhydride of formula [3] with a (substituted) 2-acryloyloxyethanol compound of formula [4], and a method for producing the same.
