<p>A slicing machine (1) has an automatic carriage (4) for feeding a product (5) to a circular knife (7) and a programme-controlled stacking unit with a chain conveyer (8) and a hinged paddle (9) for removing slices from the chain conveyer and placing them on a conveyer belt (10) below where they are enclosed in a packaging material. A product packaging unit comprising a roll (11) of thermoplastic film (12), preferably polypropylene (PP), is mounted prior to the stacking unit and includes a swivelling arrangement (16) for cutting off (13) and positioning a film under- or overlayer for the sliced product at the stacking position. The swivelling arrangement comprises a swivelling arm with suction heads (17) for raising a cut film layer. The conveyer belt extends beyond the other side of the stacking unit to a welding station with a heated welding frame. A stroking frame (22) opposite the welding frame surrounds the conveyer belt and raises a slice packaged between under- and overlayers (19) from the belt and presses it against the welding frame.</p> |
