摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint image input device incorporating highly reliable organism discrimination function, and having a sufficiently small size to the loadable degree on a portable instrument. SOLUTION: This device has a color image sensor 10 for inputting continuously plural fingerprint images acquired by pushing a finger on an inspection surface, a color information extraction part 40 for detecting a finger color synchronously with input of the plural fingerprint images, an area information extraction part 30 for detecting the physical quantity reflecting force applied to the color image sensor 10 from the finger when inputting the plural fingerprint images, especially the quantity related to the area of the finger in contact with the inspection surface, and an organism discrimination part 60 for determining whether the finger is an organism or not by analyzing the correlation between the physical quantity and the finger color. Even if an absolute value of the color change quantity is small, the organism can be discriminated by admitting sufficient correlation with information reflecting a pushing pressure of the finger such as the area of the fingerprint. The thickness of a fingerprint input part is determined by the sum of the thicknesses of a planar light source and the color image sensor to be about 1-2 mm.
