PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease cost of optical fiber arrays by decreasing the kinds of the optical fiber arrays connected to an optical waveguide element provided with a plurality of optical waveguides. SOLUTION: In an optical wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer composed of a plurality of optical waveguides having a connecting part 13 with which the optical waveguides are connected to respective optical fibers of the optical fiber arrays, the optical fiber arrays are composed of a plurality of tape fibers provided side by side which are composed of a plurality of optical fibers arrayed with a first pitch P1, the optical fibers are disposed between the adjacent tape fibers with a second pitch P2 which is different from the first pitch P1 and a pitch transformation part 36 is provided at the connection parts where pitch transformation part is so composed that a plurality of output waveguides 19 have the same pitch as that of the optical fibers in the optical fiber arrays at a plurality of planned cut lines 35 on which the optical fibers are cut to be connected to the optical fiber arrays even when the number of output waveguides 19 is varied.
