PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an evacuation ladder using an extensible pole compact, to reduce working processes and the number of parts, to reduce costs and to simplify assembling. SOLUTION: The extensible evacuation ladder 1 is provided with right and left extensible poles 2 which are made slidable in a longitudinal direction by superposing a plurality of sheets of poles 7 in the form of vertically long plates formed to have cross sections of the same shape and the same size in the front/back direction; a plurality of horizontal crosspieces 3 arranged every regular interval along a longitudinal direction between the right and left extensible poles 2 and having both of its ends fitted to respectively one ends of the right and left plates 7; and a connection mechanism 4 which connects the respective poles 7 of the right and left extensible poles 2 extensively in a longitudinal direction and prevents the respective poles 7 of the right and left extensible poles 2 in an extended state from coming off in the longitudinal direction. The respective horizontal crosspieces 3 are arranged between the opposing right and left poles 7, respectively, and both of the ends of the respective horizontal crosspieces 3 are fitted to one ends of the right and left plates 7, respectively, in a state where both of its end faces are opposed to the right and left plates 7, respectively.
