PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle having no possibility of damaging a mold wall by colliding of a molten metal with the mold wall with a large flow velocity, and no possibility of exerting influence on the steel quality caused by turbulance of a flow of the molten metal in the mold, even in the case where the immersion nozzle is disposed in the mold bias on the mold wall side. SOLUTION: In the immersion nozzle 1 provided with at least one pair of discharge holes 5a, 5b opposing to each other communicating with a molten metal passage 3 provided on the immersion nozzle body 2, the opening areas of the pair of the discharge holes are different, and the position of the lower end Ha1 of the discharge hole 5a with the small opening area is higher than the position of the lower end Hb1 of the discharge hole 5b with the large opening area.
