PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment technique capable of obtaining synthetically excellent water quality improving effect with respect to water supply for domestic use or industrial water without using chemicals inclusive of the removal of red rust, red water, a malodor, slime or the like, the prevention of the generation of slime due to microorganisms or general bacteria and the prevention of growth of algae. SOLUTION: The magnetic ceramic water treatment material excellent in cleaning/sterilization effect is constituted by depositing titanium oxide on the surface of a porous substance based on calcium phosphate, a positive magnetic substance and a diamagnetic substance and subjected to magnetization treatment.
