PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure of a frame, and to reduce a cost. SOLUTION: A frame for a multi-purpose chair has an upper supporting frame 6 provided above a supporting lower frame 2 placed on a floor, a backrest frame 9 and a seat frame 16 mounted on the upper supporting frame 6 rotatably, and a footrest frame 22 whose base part is provided rotatably on the front of the seat frame 16. An end of an arm 24 on the side of a footrest which is provided on the footrest frame 22 is attached rotatably to an end of an arm 21 on the side of a seat which is provided on the seat frame 16 by a rotary shaft 25 for a footrest. Stopper surfaces 26 which regulate upward rotations of the footrest frame 22 to the seat frame 16 by abutting on each other in case that the footrest frame 22 and the seat frame 16 form a flat surface are provided respectively on the arm 21 on the side of the seat and the arm 24 on the side of the footrest.
