PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of purifying spaces of buildings which makes spaces of the buildings safe, hygienic and comfortable by spraying an alkaline ion solution with a strong reducing action while maintaining the reducing action for a longer time into the spaces of the buildings or spraying it onto the surfaces of interior materials being heated while drying them. SOLUTION: In the method of purifying spaces of buildings, the alkaline ion solution in which a finely ground alumino silicate mineral not only with pH exceeding 11.0 but also with a base replacement capacity (meq/100 g) of 80 mg or more and with a grain size thereof of 2μm or less is suspended at a rate of 0.1 to 10.0 wt.% is sprayed into spaces of a building to decompose volatile organic compounds retained being volatilized for removal and to block functions of physiologically activating bacteria and mildews floating or adhered. Then, drying is performed.
