PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a used tatami mat to be simply crushed. SOLUTION: A chamber 1 has a charging port of the tatami mat (a hopper) 2 at its upper end part and a discharging port 8 at its lower end part. In the chamber 1, a pair of feed rollers 3 for slowly sending the tatami mat from the hopper 2 downwards by clamping it from both surfaces, a plurality of cutting blades 5 for cutting the tatami mat respectively attached to a pair of rotary shafts 4 horizontally arranged so as to hold the tatami mat sent from the feed rollers 3 therebetween and a plurality of crushing blades 7 for crushing the tatami mat which are attached to a rotary shaft 6 horizontally arranged below the cutting blades 5 are disposed.
