PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost automatic apparatus for judging the hand and the score in a mah-jongg game when a player goes out after a ready-to-win state. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a barcode C, which is written on the symbol face 10 of each mah-jongg tile 1 and indicates the kind of each tile, a barcode reader R, which reads the barcode C, a data processor 4, which judges the hand of the hand tiles A from the data read by the barcode reader R and calculates the score, and a display 5, which displays the hand judged by the data processor 4 and the calculated score. The barcode C of each mah- jongg tile 1 of the hand tiles A of a going-out player is read by the barcode reader R and the going-out hand of the had tiles A and the value are displayed on the display 5.
