PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of obtaining a satisfactory welding part in a lap welding for mutually splicing end parts of a proceeding steel strip and a following steel strip. SOLUTION: In the method of mutually splicing the end parts of the proceeding steel strip and the following steel strip in the continuous treatment line for the steel strip, the number of revolution of an electrode ring is set before the welding so that the peripheral speed of the electrode ring in using with the smallest electrode ring usable diameter becomes larger than the welding speed.
