PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of selectively producing 2'-deoxynucleoside compounds by using inexpensively and readily available dihydroxyacetone phosphate and acetaldehyde as starting raw materials or by using glyceraldehydes-3- phosphate and acetaldehyde as starting raw materials. SOLUTION: Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and acetaldehyde or dihydroxy- acetone phosphate and acetaldehyde are allowed to react with each other in the presence of the cell bodies of a microorganism including 2-deoxyribose-5- phosphate aldolase and triose phosphate isomerase or an enzyme originating from the microorganism to form 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate. Then, the 2- deoxyribose-5-phosphate and the nucleic acid base are allowed to react with each other of the presence of the cell bodies of microorganism including phosphopentomutase and nucleoside phosphorylase to produce the 2'- deoxynucleoside compound.
