PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope unit which can apply highly precise image processing and optimum masking corresponding to specifications every time even when an electronic scope with any specifications is connected to a processor simplifying the circuit constitution of the processor. SOLUTION: This electronic endoscope unit is constituted of an electronic scope and a processor. The electronic scope has a mask signal generating means to generate a mask signal corresponding to specifications of the imaging system of the electronic scope, a first transmitting means to transmit an image signal generated by the imaging element, and a second transmitting means to transmit a mask signal to the processor. The processor has an image processing means to apply prescribed image processing to an image signal inputted via the first transmitting means and a masking means to mask the image signal processed by the image processing means.
