Verfahren zur Herstellung von Organopolysiloxanen

A siloxane containing at least one Si-bonded hydrogen atom is reacted with an organic compound containing ethylenic or acetylenic unsaturation (including a silane with such unsaturation) by heating the reactants together in the presence of platinum as catalyst. The platinum is preferably supported on finelydivided charcoal or deposited on gammaalumina, and the reaction is conducted, e.g. at 100 DEG to 160 DEG C. The unsaturated compounds may contain functional groups, e.g. hydroxyl, ether, aldehyde, acetal, amine, nitrile and epoxide. The reaction product may be equilibrated with conventional siloxanes. Examples are given describing the preparation of the adducts by addition to of (1 to 5) unsaturated hydrocarbons, (6 to 14) hydrocarbons containing vinyl unsaturation and an additional functional group, (15 to 35) compounds containing allyl unsaturation and an additional functional group, an unsaturated silane and an acetylenic compound containing a hydroxy group being used in (33) and (35) respectively, and (36) hexachlorobicycloheptenylpentenoate, 1,1-dihydroperfluorobutylpentenoate and 1,1,5-trihydroperfluoropentylpentenoate. Uses: As mould releases, cosmetic ingredients, lubricants, antifoams, hydraulic fluids and as intermediates in the production of silicone elastomers and thermosetting resins. Siloxacyclopentanes can be obtained by dehydration of certain of the above prepared adducts. Thus in Example (31), the adduct of (19) was dehydrated by heating to 200 DEG -210 DEG C. (or lower with an alkaline catalyst) to yield the cyclic ester (where Me=methyl) which can also be made from Me3SiO(SiMe.H.O)2SiMe3 and allyl alcohol by dehydration and rearrangement in the presence of KOH; (32) similar dehydration of the adduct of allyl alcohol and sym-tetramethyldisiloxane yielded Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 796,576.
