PURPOSE: A portable terminal having the consonant and vowel arrangement of a Hangul 2-set type is provided to conveniently input characters by increasing the number of buttons of a keypad as 30 or more and using the keypad as the Hangul 2-set type. CONSTITUTION: A display(10) is horizontally arranged for displaying characters or icons. A keypad(30) has the consonant and vowel arrangement of a Hangul 2-set type. A hinge(20) combines the display(10) with the keypad(30). The keypad(30) has 26 consonant and vowel keys, and numerical keys reassigned in the 26 consonant and vowel keys and located at a right side. The keypad(30) has directional keys reassigned in the 26 consonant and vowel keys and located at a left side of the numerical keys, and function keys located on an upper end of the 26 consonant and vowel keys for providing specific commands.
