PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the liquid crystal display device are provided to increase spacial sizes among pixel electrodes toward edges of pixel areas in the shape of matrix by using a photo mask widening in proportion to a distance from the centers to the edges of the pixel areas, thereby simplifying the permeation of a development solution. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes gate and data wires(31,32) formed on a first substrate(30) and defining pixel areas in the shape of matrix, switching elements formed on intersections between the gate and data wires, a protecting layer formed on the switching elements, and pixel electrodes(37) formed on the protecting layer, the size of the pixel electrodes decreasing as farther from the centers of the pixel areas in the matrix shape.
