PURPOSE: A method for returning to a previous work in a portable terminal is provided to store previously worked contents and return to the previous work after other work is completed. CONSTITUTION: If a call is received when a document work, a work using a wireless Internet, or an additional function except for two works is performed, information about the works is temporarily stored in a memory. If a telephone call between a user and an object is performed and completed, it is judged whether a folder is closed. If the state of the folder is maintained as an opened state, the temporarily stored work returns. If the folder is opened again and a previous picture key is selected when the folder is closed and the telephone call is ended, the temporarily stored work returns.
