PURPOSE: A switching device is provided to reduce assembly processes and achieve a compact switching device. CONSTITUTION: A switching mechanism has at least two independently movable switching rods(6a to 6d) mounted in a switching module(1) which has a roller bearing(4) whose rolling bodies are arranged running parallel to a longitudinal axis of the module in a rectangular socket(11) of a housing. A locking device off-set axially relative to the rolling bearing is designed with one lock(13) associated with each switching rod. The cylindrical rolling bodies are inserted axially spaced from each other in a cage enclosed on the outside by the housing.
