PURPOSE: A system for managing information on the network using a smart card is provided to make any information terminal maintain the latest working environment without leaking out personal information by installing a smart card acceptance device to the information terminal. CONSTITUTION: The information terminals(11, 21) transmit user ID information from the smart card acceptance device to a management server(20) on the network in order to set up the environment of the information terminals(11,21) when a user starts or the user is changed. The information terminals(11, 21) set up the environment by the personal environment information of the user transmitted from the management server(30), and transmit the personal environment information to the management server(30) when the user turns off the information terminals(11,21) or the user is changed. The management server(30) includes a personal environment information storing tool matching with the user ID information through a manager input/output device(31), the information terminals(11,21) and the smart card acceptance device.
