PURPOSE: A method of setting up the optimum path for packet data transmission by using a mobile telephone network is provided to efficiently transmit packet data according to the environment of a service subscriber. CONSTITUTION: A mobile telephone network receives packet data including called number information and calling number information(S201). The mobile telephone network determines whether the location of the present called number coincides with the location of the called number stored at a subscriber information storage device(S202). If not coincide, the mobile telephone network searches for new called number location and sets up the optimum path between the new called number location and the mobile telephone network(S203). The mobile telephone network stores the called number location and requests transmitting packet data to the new called location(S204). A caller mobile communication terminal transmits the packet data to a called mobile communication terminal(S205). The mobile telephone network confirms whether additional packets are to be transmitted to the same called person(S206).
