PURPOSE: An apparatus for driving a liquid crystal display(LCD) and a method thereof are provided, which improves a screen quality of the LCD. CONSTITUTION: Source data is supplied to a display panel at the first period of a frame using a pre-established modulation data. And data different from the modulation data is supplied to the above display panel at the latter period of the frame. The data supplied to the display panel at the latter period of the frame is the above source data. The source data is divided into upper bits and lower bits, and the upper bits are delayed and then the modulation data is selected by comparing the upper bits between frames.
