<p>PURPOSE: A frequency converter is provided to permit supply voltage to be lowered below the withstand voltage of fast transistors used and reduce power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A frequency converter is provided with a signal input circuit(101) for inputting an intermediate frequency signal in the case where the frequency converter is an up-converter or a radio frequency signal in the case where the frequency converter is a down-converter, and a local signal input circuit(102) including a local oscillator for inputting a local signal. At this time, each of the signal input circuit(101) and the local signal input circuit(102) is comprised of a transconductor, a voltage-to-current converter, wherein the voltage-to-current converter is constructed from a MOS transistor. The frequency converter further includes a signal adder(103) for adding the input signal from the signal input circuit(101) and the local signal from the local signal input circuit(102) and outputs the sum signal to a switching circuit(104).</p> |
