PURPOSE: A payment system and method is provided to unify the milage offered by a plurality of service providers or companies, to convert the milage into an exchange value corresponding to a real money, and to enable a user to pay a commodity with the milage via a mobile phone, at a vending machine or at a milage payment terminal installed at a store. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a milage unification server(10), a mobile terminal(20), the internet(40), an MSC(Mobile Switching Center, 50), and a mobile communication network(60). The milage unification server(10) is connected to servers of affiliated member companies(70, 71, 72), for example, service providers, and a user terminal(80). The affiliated member companies(70, 71, 72) offer a milage point to a user according to criteria of theirs when the user purchases a commodity or a service. The milage unification server(10) receives the offered milage data from each member company, unifies the milage data, and converts the unified milage into an exchange value corresponding to real money. The vending machine(30) has a unique phone number, receives the exchange value from the unification server and offers a commodity to a user based on the exchange value if the vending machine(30) is accessed by a mobile terminal of a user and receives a selection signal from the user.
