PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting method of a low pressure mercury discharge lamp, a low-pressure mercury lamp discharge device and a photo-oxidation device, in which progression of blackening phenomenon is suppressed even if turn on/off is repeated, and which can be used suitably for the photo-oxidation device. SOLUTION: When a lamp ON/OFF signal is switched to ON from OFF, a discharging current to flow is gently increased from zero to a steady value between electrodes of the low pressure mercury discharge lamp. |
