PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a high-quality data recording without adjusting a rotational number even if maximum recording power exceeds the maximum permissible power of an LD by an OPC. SOLUTION: A controlling part 24 carries out OPC in the PCA area of an optical disk 10 and determines optimum recording power. When the optimum recording power exceeds the maximum permissible power of the LD, the controlling part 24 changes a recording strategy to the low-power side to determine the optimum recording power again. A low-power strategy is obtained by increasing the variation in time of a standard strategy, and the amount increased can be adjusted according to a prescribed amount or the excess of the optimum recording power to the maximum permissible power. |
