<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment operating device that enables even a visually impaired person to operate equipment easily in various ways like a physically unimpaired person. SOLUTION: The equipment operating device has a screen for displaying an operation function in each operation scene for operating the equipment, a touch panel on which each operation function on the screen is selected, and a template on which a tactilely identifiable numeral is arranged in the same position as the operation function displayed on the screen. When a user is recognized as a visually impaired person, a template is installed on the touch panel according to the operation scene, wherewith a tactilely identifiable numeral on the template is entered on a numeric keypad, and speech information on the operation function corresponding to the numeral is output in speech. Hearing the speech guide, if the user finds it a desirable function, the user touches the position on the touch panel corresponding to the operation function displayed on the screen to select the operation function, whereupon even the visually impaired person can operate on the touch panel.</p> |
