PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver that can control a sound volume so as not to provide a sense of incongruity to a user even when a reception state of DAB (Digital Audio broadcasting) is deteriorated and the same program of the RDS (Radio Data System) is selected. SOLUTION: In the case that an RDS link function linked to the same program of the RDS is turned off when the reception state of the DAB is deteriorated, audio is muted when the reception state of the DAB is deteriorated, and the sound volume is stepwise restored when the reception state of the DAB is recovered after that. When the RDS link function is ON and when the reception state of the DAB is deteriorated, audio is muted and when the reception state of the DAB is restored and the RDS is restored to the DAB after that, the sound volume is immediately recovered to the original sound volume.
