PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which can prevent drop in the light spot performance caused by the incident light oblique to the objective lens when using multi-beams. SOLUTION: In optical pickup that has a light source emitting two or more fluxes of light, a polarizing plane turn means to turn a part or all of the polarizing plane of the light source for only a predetermined angle, and an objective lens to condense the light from the light source on an information recording medium, this invention is characterized in that the spot intensity P1 and P2...Pn condensed on the information recording medium have the following relations for the polarizing plane turn angle of the beam irradiated to the above objective lens θ1, θ2...θn (n>2).
