<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoder the capacity of a memory for storing a reference image of which is reduced without deteriorating a coding efficiency so as to reduce the cost. SOLUTION: An image at the same spatial position as that of a received image is used for a reference image, an encoded data read section 106b reads encoded data written in an encoding data buffer 107 by an encoded data write section 106a from an encoded data buffer synchronously with the received image, a reference image decoding section 108 decodes the data, and a predicted image generating section 102 stores only the data required for generating a predicted image to a reference image buffer 104.</p> |
