摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formation method for a gas tight nickel - hydrogen storage battery that can easily accelerate initial activation and does not give any adverse effect on low temperature high efficient discharge property. SOLUTION: In the formation method for the gas tight nickel - hydrogen storage battery, in which charging and discharging is conducted after housing an electrode group consisting of nickel positive electrodes containing a cobalt compound and negative electrodes of a hydrogen absorbing alloy in a battery container and injecting electrolyte, it is characterized in that after initial charging, the discharging is conducted up to the final voltage with the current more than 0.02C (A) while maintaining the battery at temperature of 40-80 deg.C, and then discharging is conducted up to the final voltage with the current less than 0.02C (A) again.</p>
