PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect valid synchronization codes in a short period of time by reducing possibility of mistakenly detecting a non-sync byte 47H as a synchronization code, thereby reducing time required before accurate DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) processing. SOLUTION: In a data transmission system for transmitting data by means of TS (transport stream) signals into which synchronization codes are inserted in a certain cycle, the system comprises a synchronization code detection means which validates a synchronization code if code streams for synchronization are detected together in a current TS and a certain time delayed TS a predetermined number of times successively. This system thus reduces possibility of recognizing a non-sync byte 47H as a synchronization code by mistake.
