PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tungsten halogen lamp which remarkably increases lamp efficiency by improving a feedback rate of an infrared ray to a filament. SOLUTION: The tungsten halogen lamp comprises a glass valve 1 having a blocking-up part 1b on an end of the lamp and a sealing part 2 on the other end, and a filament 3 surrounded by the glass valve 1. The glass valve 1 has a second rotary ellipse part 1a, the two focuses of which are located near to the both ends of the filament 3 respectively. The filament 3 is surrounded by a glass sleeve 4 having a first rotary ellipse part 4a, the two focuses of which are located near to the both ends of the filament 3 respectively. The first rotary ellipse part 4a and the second rotary ellipse part 1a are coated by infrared light reflection films 9a, 9b respectively. The glass sleeve 4 is fasten by a mounting wire 5 connected to a lead wire 8 of the filament 3.
