PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote the update of contents in a recording medium belonging to a user and accordingly to promote the sale of contents from a multimedia terminal in contents sale by using a recording medium provided with copy protect and the multimedia terminal at a storefront. SOLUTION: The data providing system for providing electronic data to a recording medium having a security means for suppressing copying of the electronic data is provided with a means for providing the recording medium with the electronic data and a means for buying the electronic data to the recording medium. The buying means is provided with a calculating means for calculating a purchase price of the electronic data, a means for eliminating the electronic data from the recording medium, and a means for commanding payment for the purchase price of the eliminated electronic data. |
