PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely transfer the content data by the appointed completion date and time requested by a user for downloading by using a reservation and control system for downloading multimedia data provided in a service provider to a terminal via a network. SOLUTION: A terminal is provided with a speed measuring part which requests the service provider to provide a sample file for measurement of the transfer speed and measures the file transfer time from the service provider, a reservation calculation part which finds the download start time based on speed information against the request for reservation including content, desired download complete time, judges the possibility of implementation of reservation, and if it is decided possible, registers the reservation content to the reservation information database, and a time start control part which controls to start the above service provider based on the registered reservation information.
