PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire information in excess of the number of simultaneously receptible channels from a digital television broadcast. SOLUTION: The data broadcast receiver capable of simultaneously receiving only data broadcast signals of the prescribed number of channels or below, receives a broadcast reception request of moving picture audio data and a broadcast reception request of service data, and determines whether or not simultaneously broadcast reception processing for the moving picture audio data and the service data is disabled. When the receiver determines it that simultaneously processing is disabled, the receiver takes precedence of the broadcast reception processing of the moving picture audio data over other processing and holds the broadcast reception processing of the service data, and acquires e.g. a network address of the service data when holding the reception processing so as to acquire the service data via a network.
