PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facsimile equipment and a facsimile communication method, with which a partial page signal (PPS) can be surely received during the communication operation utilizing an ECM function. SOLUTION: After an error is confirmed in a STEP 3, when the occurrence period of the error is longer than a prescribed time in a STEP 6, processing is moved to a STEP 7 and in order to receive PPS-EOP, the communication state of a MODEM is transited to an FSK communication mode. When the PPS-EOP is received, a PPR is transmitted for requesting the retransmission of image signals for all the frames after a frame where the error occurs.
