PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the efficiency of the trace processing of a control program. SOLUTION: The conventional address match start register 403a contains all addresses to be traced. On the other hand, in the address match start register 403a according to the present invention, a 'start address after trace end' is 'replaced by the start address to be traced next'. This eliminates the need for checking if tracing is required until an 'address at which tracing ends' is reached. That is, by removing a part of the control program from which trace data has been collected is not traced, address match detection need not be executed for the part of the control program from which trace data has been collected and there is no need for wasteful checking. This reduces the trace data collection overhead in a part where repetition, such as loop control, is executed and thus reduces the load of the computer system. Therefore, the performance of the computer is increased.
