A catalytic pot (2) contains an exhaust gas catalyst (3) and is connected to the exhaust gas pipe (5a, 5b) by an inlet (4a, 4b). A throttle (6) is placed in the catalytic pot to form a first reaction chamber (7) between the throttle and the inlet and a second reaction chamber (8) between the throttle and the catalyst (3). The throttle is a regularly perforated screen and has a sintered wall on the downstream side. Alternatively, the throttle is a perforated sheet of metal with a high heat and/or catalytic resistance, or is a thermal screen between the inlet and the catalyst.
