PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute an electronic coupon of optimum contents at an optimum point of time to customer. SOLUTION: A customer carrying a PDA 10 registers the name and the keyword of a desired commodity and/or service, etc., to a server device 40 through an access point device 30 beforehand. At the time of using an electronic coupon distribution service, the customer connects the access point device through a short distance radio communication means and requests distribution of the electronic coupon. The server device 40 retrieves a PDA data base 50, a customer data base 60 and a commodity data base 70 corresponding to the distribution request, and in the case that electronic coupon information for the desired commodity and/or service registered beforehand is present, prepares the electronic coupon on the basis of the electronic coupon information and distributes it to the PDA 10 to be displayed.
