PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a funnel glass for a cathode ray-tube which can prevent deterioration of contrast of the cathode-ray tube by absorbing the light intruding into the funnel glass in the glass. SOLUTION: In this funnel glass for a cathode-ray tube, an optical transmittance in a wavelength range of 450-650 nm at a glass thickness of 10 mm is 80% or less, and an X-ray absorption coefficient at a wavelength of 0.06 nm is 40 cm<-1> or more.
