METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING IMAGE FROM ONE SET OF DISCRETE SAMPLE POINTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating an image from one set of discrete sample points. SOLUTION: The sample points can decide a 3D volume or surface. Each discrete sample point is projected to a screen space. A continuous re-sampling filter for each sample point is generated in the screen space. The continuous re-sampling filter is the combination of a continuous restoration function and a continuous filter function for the sample points in the screen space. Thereafter, the continuous re-sampling filter is applied to each corresponding discrete sample in the screen space to generate a continuous sample for image. The continuous sample can be rasterized to pixels by use of an optional known rastering process or method.
